Intro: The dynamic clarifier is Tecnoidea’s clarification solution for flow rates above 800–1,000 m³/h, and for sites where vertical development of the settling unit is limited by technical or planning constraints. Instead, it develops horizontally, with diameters of up to 20–25 metres, moving the sludge with a rotating scraper bridge and extracting it through a dedicated sludge extraction pump.
The same clarification principle, with a different sludge extraction mechanism to suit wide, low-profile geometries.
If the washing plant discharges turbid water at a low level (for example 4–5 metres above ground), the dynamic clarifier requires no lift pumps and can receive the water directly by gravity.

The turbid water, already dosed with flocculant, is fed into the clarifier. The sludge flocs settle under gravity while the clarified water rises towards the overflow weir. The clarifier's geometry is calculated so that the upward velocity of the water stays low enough for the flocs to settle undisturbed.

This is where the machine's “dynamic” nature lies. A motorised bridge rotates inside the clarifier, with scraper arms moving slowly across the floor and conveying the settled sludge towards the centre.

The thickened sludge collected by the scraper bridge is extracted continuously by a dedicated sludge extraction pump, which sends it to the storage tank.

From the scraper bridge structure to the sludge-level control logic, we design every detail of your clarifier

The scraper bridge rotates continuously, slowly moving the settled sludge across diameters of up to 20–25 metres and conveying it towards the extraction point. Because an excessive build-up of solids on the clarifier floor would put the structure under stress, continuous bridge rotation and prompt sludge extraction are essential for reliable operation.
Because of the rotating assembly, our traditional LEM sludge-level monitoring system, used on static clarifiers, cannot be installed on a dynamic clarifier. To automate sludge-level measurement in these large tanks, we use non-contact radar technology to continuously monitor the level inside the clarifier.
In many areas, planning and landscape authorities prohibit the installation of tall silos. In these cases, the horizontal dynamic clarifier can be the most suitable technical solution.
