Overhead-beam filter press
The Tecnoidea overhead-beam filter press is designed for mechanical sludge dewatering in high-output applications. It separates the water from the sludge and delivers solid, spadeable cakes.
Rapid plate opening is handled by a patented multifunction plate shifter, while automatic cloth washing is fully integrated and the steel structure receives a four-layer protective treatment. The result is a machine designed for continuous operation, even in demanding conditions.
How the Tecnoidea Impianti overhead-beam filter press works
From thickened sludge to a spadeable cake, through to automatic cloth washing: the overhead-beam filter press cycle is designed to cut idle time and keep the machine running.
Filling and filtration
The sludge is pumped under pressure into the central feed channel of the plate pack, filling the chambers lined with filter cloths.
Pressing and cake formation
The pressure forces the water out, turning the incoming sludge — which is around 70% water — into solid, spadeable cakes.
Rapid plate opening and cake discharge
Once pressing is complete, the automatic plate shifter separates the plates rapidly, one by one, releasing the dewatered cakes.
Automatic cloth washing
To keep filtration efficiency high cycle after cycle, the integrated system washes the cloths.
Technology and construction
Every component of the filter press is designed for continuous operation and long service life: from the four-layer anti-corrosion treatment to the patented plate shifter and the automatic cloth washing system.
Patented multifunction plate shifter
It moves and separates the plates for rapid cake discharge and carries out automatic cloth washing. It also incorporates an electric hoist to simplify maintenance.
Virgin polypropylene plates
Moulded in one piece, with increased thickness.
Four-layer surface treatment
To protect the steel structure, the machine goes through a cycle of sand-blasting, zinc metallisation, painting and a final textured finish.
Safety and compliance
Whip-check safety cables are fitted to every hydraulic hose to protect the operator. All filter presses are designed in strict compliance with Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC.
