Function:
Sludge homogenisation
The sludge agitator is installed inside process tanks to keep the sludge homogeneous. It prevents the sludge from settling naturally, keeps it fluid and pumpable, and promotes thorough mixing when chemical conditioning agents are added.
The agitator keeps the sludge continuously moving inside the storage tank. Without agitation, the sludge would tend to settle.

Without agitation, the pump could draw sludge of inconsistent density, affecting pump operation and the stability of the dewatering process.

Installed inside the sludge tank, it keeps the sludge homogeneous before dewatering.
In these plants, the agitator promotes thorough mixing of the sludge with reagents (such as coagulants or lime), providing the mixing conditions required for the chemical reaction.
In this sector, continuous agitation is particularly important: wash water from mixers and concrete mixer trucks is collected in a large tank and kept continuously agitated before being pumped directly to the filter press.
