Tertiary treatment and supporting infrastructure play an important role in closing the water loop and supporting overall plant performance. From tertiary treatment systems designed to support compliance with discharge requirements to structural covers and plant rooms, these solutions protect the machinery and support overall plant operation.
Our ancillary systems are available as stand-alone modules or fully integrated into our complete turnkey plants.

Discover the productThe role of tertiary treatment and supporting infrastructure

In complex sectors such as Soil Washing, road sweeping or tunnelling, clarification alone is not enough. When a plant has excess process water to discharge or operates on an open loop, the water intended for discharge to the environment must comply with applicable discharge limits. At this stage, tertiary treatment may include three main stages: pH neutralisation (where lime or cementitious materials have increased the pH) through the dosing of an acidic solution or carbon dioxide (CO₂); sand filters or rotary drum filters, which retain the residual fine suspended solids not removed during clarification; and finally activated carbon filters for the adsorption of dissolved organic contaminants such as hydrocarbons and PFAS. These treatment stages support compliance with the requirements applicable to discharge to surface waters or sewer systems.

The infrastructure designed by Tecnoidea supports operational continuity. Filter-press enclosures protect the machine and support process continuity. In environments with large temperature swings, a dedicated cover helps maintain suitable operating conditions and provides a protected environment for maintenance activities.
