Discover the productHow water and sludge pumping works and when it is used

Water and sludge treatment requires pumping systems specifically designed for abrasive and solids-laden fluids. Water from aggregate washing, stone cutting or road sweeping is laden with abrasive suspended solids that can cause rapid wear of standard impellers, potentially leading to unplanned downtime.

Pumps are used at three main stages of the water and sludge treatment process.
At the upstream end of the treatment process, the turbid water from aggregate washing is collected in a tank and pumped to the clarifier by a lift pump.
The thickened sludge stored in the sludge tank is transferred to the filter press by abrasion-resistant feed pumps, while the initial filtrate is collected and pumped back to the turbid-water tank.
Finally, the clarified water overflowing from the clarifier is collected in a storage tank and returned to the washing plant by process or recirculation pumps.
